Big Bad Wolf STEAM Project
The Big Bad Wolf is a fun STEAM project that has become a tradition at the little school. Each class will build a structure out of one material and 1/2 cup of Elmer's glue. Will they withstand the blow of the Big Bad Wolf (Miss Shannon’s leaf blower)? We will gather on the indoor playground for this collective activity.
Made 4 Moms' Market
Join us for a wonderful vendor event focused all on moms! Come shop on February 7th from 10am-2pm the array of vendor, grab a bite to eat from our food truck and enjoy a drink. We will also be hosting a raffle where all proceeds benefit the Jane and Jack Richter scholarship fund, directly benefiting students at the little school. This event is exclusively for moms and will be an adult-only evening, designed to give women a chance to shop, relax, connect, and enjoy a night out just for them. Shamrock Shake
The little school dance is coming back with a St Patrick’s theme! Mark your calendar, this is the cutest event of the year when all our little munchkins get to dance with their friends and family. More details to come.

ART SHOW
Save the date! You won’t want to miss the little school amazing art show. For one evening, the little school becomes an impressive museum, each classroom displaying students’ art made throughout the school year.
Pre-K Moving Up Day (10am-12pm)
This is our Pre-K moving on celebration as our oldest group of students “moves up”! All of our Pre-K classes practice a collection of songs with Ms. Jackie that they perform for their parents and teachers. On our moving up day, the Pre-K students will promenade through our school as all of our other classes cheer them on to their new adventure! Details to come.
August Camp Ends
This is the last day of camp. Please note that this is a half day. Families must be here at 11 am to participate in our End of Camp party. All festivities will end promptly at 1 pm.

Holiday Show
Come enjoy our annual Holiday Program. Preschool and Pre-K students will sing Holiday themed songs that they rehearsed over the previous months with their music teacher, Miss Jackie.
DETAILS:
ACT I: 10 AM - Preschool (Gina, Amy & Beth, and Sandy):
ACT II: 10:45 AM - Pre-K (Cat, Grace, and Nicki)
ALL PRESCHOOL AND PREK STUDENTS MUST REPORT TO LSKC NO LATER THAN 8:30 AM for a short rehearsal before we bus them to the performance location.
Seating for Act I ONLY will begin at 9:45am.
Seating for Act II will begin around 10:35am.
Students will be transported by an approved parent/guardian home after the conclusion of the performance. The little school will be closed for all services following the performances.

Closing Early for All Services

Dear Little School Families, We wanted to let you know that on Friday, December 5th, The Little School will be closing at 4:00 PM for all students. Our staff will be gathering that evening for our annual Holiday Celebration, a special time for our teachers and team to come together in appreciation and joy during this festive season. Please make arrangements to pick up your child by 4:00 PM that day. We appreciate your understanding and support as we take this time to celebrate the wonderful work our teachers do all year long. Thank you for helping us make this adjustment smoothly — and for sharing in the holiday spirit with us!
Nutcracker Visitors
Pre-K students will enjoy a dance presentation and learn about the story of the Nutcracker from the cast of the Ballet Theater of Dover.
Honoring St Nicholas
Students will talk about St Nicholas’ Day and receive a clementine and a Hershey kiss.
Wear Red Day
We are asking all students to wear red to help us encourage Miss Linda as she continues her battle with cancer.
Angel Tree
From December 1–17 we will collect items for our Angel Tree. This year we adopted a total of 8 children from our school family. All gift tags can be found on the Angel Tree in the lobby. We hope you can join us in taking a tag and helping fulfill their Christmas wishes. All items need to be turned in, unwrapped, to the office lobby with the angel tree tag attached no later than 12/17.
Thanksgiving Feast
Students will enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with their classroom on the indoor playground. This is a long time tradition of the little school. Keep an eye out for volunteer sign up.
Canned Food Drive
We are collecting canned food drive to give to the Food Bank of Delaware.
The Food Bank of Delaware released this statement:
SNAP benefits will not be issued in November until the government reopens. We are in great need of the following items:
Canned meats
Peanut butter & jelly
Heart canned soups
Rice
Oatmeal and cereal
Shelf-stable milk
Canned fruits/vegetables
Snack items like granola bars, fruit snacks, apple sauce and microwave popcorn
Boxed macaroni and cheese

Candy Collection For the Troops
Bring your leftover candies to the little school, we are collecting them to send them to the troops!

Halloween Parade
Children will parade in front of parents and families. This is a highlight at the little school and you won't want to miss it! Children usually go back to class afterwards for special snacks and classroom activities. Check with your teacher for details.
